Job Overview
Fairview is looking for an ASC Coordinator/Peri Op Aide to join our team at our Clinics Surgery Center in Minneapolis, MN. The ASC Coordinator/Peri Op Aide supports the ambulatory surgery and procedure center with administrative needs and assists the surgery center nursing team with care of patients. Assists the surgery center nursing team in the care of surgical patients with transportation of the pre- and post-operative patient. Performs a final check of supplies to ensure that they are complete and that everything is stocked for care of patients. Moves equipment in and out of procedure, OR, and recovery rooms as needed. Cleans perioperative areas. Key clerical and administrative coordinator for the unit that manages phones, paging, and communication between the ASC departments and surgical specialty clinics. Maintains confidential information and supports all other activities of the Ambulatory Surgery Center.
Position Details:
• 1.0 FTE (80 hours per pay period)
• day shift
• no weekends

Responsibilities
• Transports patients to and from perioperative services.
• Performs cleaning.
• Provides clerical and organization support to managers and nursing staff.
• Works collaboratively with all nursing staff, physicians, advanced practice care providers, ancillary support department staff and office specialist team members.
• Maintains adequate stock of office supplies, patient refreshments and medical forms.

Required Qualifications
One of the following is required for hire:
• 2 years clinical or patient registration, patient financial services, or health unit coordinator experience in an accredited hospital or surgical center
• 1 year completion of at least one year of coursework in a healthcare-related educational program

Certification:
• Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross)

Preferred Qualifications
• Nursing Assistant Registered
