Job Summary
The Oncology Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant provides comprehensive outpatient care to oncology and hematology patients in collaboration with our Oncology physician and multidisciplinary care team.
The APP will care for patients throughout diagnosis, treatment, follow-up and survivorship while supporting the continued delivery and development of oncology and infusion services at Grand Itasca.
Here’s what you’ll do when you join us:
• Evaluate, diagnose and manage oncology and hematology patients in the outpatient setting.
• Provide ongoing care throughout treatment, follow-up and survivorship.
• Review laboratory and diagnostic results and develop appropriate plans of care.
• Assess and manage treatment-related symptoms, side effects and complications.
• Provide education and support to patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment and symptom management.
• Collaborate with Oncology physicians, nursing, pharmacy, Infusion Center staff and other members of the care team.
• Provide clinical leadership and support within the Infusion Center.
• Facilitate Grand Itasca’s cancer survivorship program.
• Coordinate referrals and collaborate with primary and specialty care providers to ensure continuity of care.
• Participate in oncology program development, patient education and quality-improvement initiatives.

If you have these qualifications, we’d love to chat:
Required Qualifications
• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
• Current or eligible for Minnesota licensure.
• Current applicable national certification.
• DEA registration or eligibility to obtain, as applicable.
• Ability to obtain and maintain medical staff membership and clinical privileges at Grand Itasca.
• Current BLS certification or ability to obtain within the required timeframe.
• Strong clinical, communication and collaborative skills.

Preferred Qualifications
• Two or more years of Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant experience preferred.
• Oncology and/or hematology experience or training preferred.

Compensation Disclaimer
The posted pay range is for a 40-hour workweek (1.0 FTE). The actual rate of pay offered within this range may depend on several factors, such as FTE, skills, knowledge, relevant education, experience, and market conditions. Additionally, our organization values pay equity and considers the internal equity of our team when making any offer. Hiring at the maximum of the range is not typical. If your role is eligible for a sign-on bonus, the bonus program that is approved and in place at the time of offer, is what will be honored.
