Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Campus Director of Environmental Services to lead campus maintenance, housekeeping, laundry, custodial, and environmental services operations. This role is responsible for ensuring a clean, safe, well-maintained, and welcoming environment for residents, families, staff, and visitors while overseeing building systems, grounds, preventative maintenance programs, and regulatory compliance.
The Environmental Services Director serves as a key member of the leadership team and partners closely with department leaders, vendors, and staff to support operational excellence across the campus.
What You'll Do
Environmental Services Leadership
• Lead and supervise housekeeping and maintenance team members.
• Interview, hire, train, coach, and develop staff.
• Manage employee performance and provide ongoing feedback and support.
• Create and maintain department schedules to ensure effective coverage.
• Monitor work orders and ensure timely completion of repairs and service requests.
• Develop, manage, and monitor the Environmental Services budget.

Facilities and Maintenance Management
• Oversee maintenance and operations for campus buildings and grounds.
• Develop and maintain preventative maintenance programs for the campus.
• Establish annual department goals and operational priorities.
• Partner with site leadership to identify repair and maintenance needs.
• Coordinate vendor services, contracts, and repair projects.
• Maintain regulatory records, inspection logs, and maintenance documentation.
• Complete preventative maintenance and repair work as needed.

Safety and Emergency Preparedness
• Promote and maintain a safe working environment.
• Identify, address, and prevent potential safety hazards.
• Support safety training programs, including lockout/tagout and injury prevention initiatives.
• Coordinate and monitor campus fire drills and emergency preparedness activities.
• Lead or participate in Safety Committees, audits, and compliance initiatives.
• Support disaster preparedness and emergency response planning.

Transportation and Vehicle Oversight
• Oversee maintenance and upkeep of campus transportation vehicles.
• Maintain transportation logs and required vehicle documentation.
• Schedule and coordinate routine and preventative vehicle maintenance.
• Ensure safe transportation practices and compliance with all applicable laws.
• Promptly report and address vehicle incidents, accidents, or violations.

Qualifications
Required
• Associate of Arts Vocational/Technical Training or Associate Degree
• 1 year One to Three Years
• Experience with mechanical equipment
• Special Class C Boilers License within 1 Year
• Drivers License Current Driver’s License (in good standing)
• Medical Exam Certification
• Must be at least 18-years old
• Must be insurable under the employers Auto Insurance Coverage
• Must complete and pass in-house transportation curriculum course and pass driving evaluation. within 30 Days

Preferred
• Bachelor of Arts Plant Maintenance or related field
• 3 years Three to Five Years

Compensation Disclaimer
The posted pay range is for a 40-hour workweek (1.0 FTE). The actual rate of pay offered within this range may depend on several factors, such as FTE, skills, knowledge, relevant education, experience, and market conditions. Additionally, our organization values pay equity and considers the internal equity of our team when making any offer. Hiring at the maximum of the range is not typical. If your role is eligible for a sign-on bonus, the bonus program that is approved and in place at the time of offer, is what will be honored.
