Job description
Position Overview
Willis Knighton Health is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Pediatric Hospitalist to join our dedicated pediatric inpatient team at Willis Knighton South in Shreveport, LA. This role delivers comprehensive, high-quality care to pediatric patients within a collaborative, physician-led environment.
Schedule and Coverage
• Rotation: 7 days on, 7 days off.
• Team Structure: 4-physician rotation model.
• Day Shifts: In-house floor management and admissions.
• Night Shifts: Unrestricted call from home.
• Newborn Nursery : Q4 weekend unassigned nursery coverage at Willis Knighton South. Paid unassigned nursery shifts at Willis Knighton Pierremont.
Compensation Structure
• Competitive Shift + wRVU compensation on both day and night shifts.
• Unassigned Nursery Call compensation. Minimum of 4 days paid unassigned nursery call per month.
Clinical Facilities
• Unit Size: 24-bed dedicated pediatric inpatient unit.
• Environment: Modern community health system with robust subspecialty support.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage inpatient admissions, daily rounds, and discharges.
• Provide expert consultations for emergency department pediatric cases.
• Coordinate care plans with primary pediatricians and specialists.
• Stabilize and prepare patients requiring transfer to intensive care.
• Lead pediatric resuscitation or rapid response protocols if activated.
Qualifications
• Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
• Successful completion of an accredited Pediatrics residency program.
• Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Pediatrics.
• Eligibility for an unrestricted Louisiana medical license.
• Active Federal DEA registration.
• Current PALS and NRP certifications
