Job description
Willis Knighton Health System is seeking a Medical Assistant for the Cardiology Clinic on the WKMC campus. The Medical Assistant will provide nursing care to patients in the physician offices under the supervision of the clinic physician.
The job responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
• Assess the health status of patients and collaborate with the nursing staff and physician to establish care procedures.
• Contribute to the planning of appropriate nursing interventions
• Medication administration for oral, intramuscular, subcutaneous, or intradermal
• Assist patients with activities of daily living
• Document patient assessment
• Communicate pertinent information regarding the patient's condition to other members of the health care team
• Provide information to the patient/family regarding the disease process or diagnostic procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• A Louisiana license is a requirement for this position.
• Previous cardiac experience is preferred.
The applicant selected for this position will be required to attend a hospital-wide orientation as well as a department orientation upon hire.
