Job Summary
The duties of a Family Medicine Physician Assistant (PA) mid-level provider include, but are not limited to, providing accurate assessment, diagnosis, treatment, consultation, education and follow-up care to patients ranging in age from infancy to geriatric; proper maintenance of records, under the direction of the Supervisory Physician and any other reasonable and proper duties assigned.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
• Provide float coverage across True Health locations, programs, and services as assigned based on organizational, staffing, and patient-care needs.
• Assist with and provide clinical coverage for the Mobile Unit, Samaritan program/services, Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) program, pre-employment physicals, and Department of Transportation (DOT) physicals , as assigned and within the Provider's qualifications, certifications, privileges, and scope of practice.
• Maintain flexibility to travel between and provide coverage at True Health locations and community-based service sites as assigned.
• Examine patients and record history.
• Adhere to proper charting protocols.
• Discuss with physicians and other healthcare professionals to prepare comprehensive plans of care.
• Order or execute tests or diagnostic imaging as needed.
• Submit healthcare plans and goals of individual patients for periodic review by the Physician, as applicable.
• Analyze results of tests, diagnose, and report findings to patients.
• Administer or prescribe treatment and medications within the Provider's authorized scope of practice.
• Promote health by advising patients on diet, hygiene, wellness, and prevention of disease.
• Inoculate and vaccinate as required.
• Refer patients to specialists as required for the patient's well-being.
• Perform minor surgical procedures within the Provider's scope of practice and privileges.
• Report deaths and contagious diseases to appropriate governmental authorities as required.
• Report incidents to the Department of Risk and Compliance.
• Complete and report incidents through the intranet.
• Report incidents of violence and aggression to the Departments of Risk and Compliance and Human Resources.
• Report suspected child abuse, elder abuse, and human trafficking to the appropriate agencies and the Department of Risk and Compliance, in accordance with applicable reporting requirements.
• Participate and serve on a minimum of one clinical quality committee.
• Represent True Health in the community and at community events.
• Provide coverage for on-call responsibilities, as assigned.
• Participate in the Peer Review Process, as indicated.
• Precept and train students, including MD, DO, APRN, PA, residents, fellows, and other healthcare professionals, as assigned.
• Precept and train provider peers, as assigned.
• Respond to and participate in True Health emergencies, including Nurse Stats.

Minimum Qualifications
• Education:
• Current National Board Certification
Experience:
• Prior experience working in a Federally Qualified Heath Center (FQHC) or community health center strongly preferred.
• Experience providing care to underserved, uninsured, Medicaid, and Medicare populations.
• Knowledge of FQHC regulations, HRSA requirements, quality measures and value-based care initiatives.
• Experience managing diverse patient populations, including pediatric, adult, geriatric, and behavioral health patients.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills preferred
• Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) preferrable EPIC or similar systems.

• Demonstrated ability to work in a team-based model with physicians, nurses, behavioral health providers, pharmacists and care coordinators.
• Licenses or Certifications:
• Must have and maintain current State of Florida license in good standing
• Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Preferred and or within 6-months of employment.
• Criminal Background Clearance:
• True Health is a Health Center Program grantee under 42 U.S.C. 254b, a deemed Public Health Service employee under 42 U.S.C. 233(g)-(n), and partners with agencies that require criminal background checks. True Health has established policies and procedures that may influence the overall employment process, hiring, and “just cause” for the termination of employees. An employee’s career could be shortened if there is a violation of any policies and procedures.
• Prohibited criminal behavior is defined in Florida Statute (F.S.) 408.809. Any employee arrested for any offense outlined in the F.S.408.809 will be immediately suspended and remain suspended until the charges are disposed of in court. The employee will be terminated for an arrest or conviction of any violation listed above.
DRUG/ALCOHOL SCREENINGS
A post-offer drug and alcohol screen is a requirement for employment. Failure to successfully pass the drug/alcohol screen will be cause for the offer to be rescinded. Employees are subject to random drug/alcohol screenings throughout the duration of their employment with True Health. If an employee fails to pass the drug/alcohol screening, then this shall become grounds for discipline up to and including immediate termination.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
• The employee is subject to prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• The employee is subject to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions.
• The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, talk, and hear.
• The employee is occasionally required to use hands to handle or feel objects, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, and move or lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds.
• The employee is required to use close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and adjust focus.
• A reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
WORKING CONDITIONS (Required for all positions)
The employee will work as the needs of the operation require. Normal work days and hours are Monday through Thursday, 8am – 6pm and Fridays, 8am – 12pm; however, there will be times when the employee will need to come in or work on “off hours” or “off days” to meet the needs of the position.
