Responsibilities
In this role the Organ Preservation Specialist supports perfusionists, who operate heart-lung machines during cardiac and transplant procedures, as well as organ transports and preservation. Duties include operating equipment for organ recovery and preservation, assisting with organ benching, documenting procedures, patient transport, inventory management, continued monitoring of biologic implants, and ensuring proper sterilization and cleaning of equipment. Additionally, they will provide administrative support such as scheduling appointments, managing paperwork, as well as summarizing quarterly quality metrics. Strong attention to detail, knowledge of medical terminology, and the ability to work in high-pressure environments are essential for this role. Duties may also include all aspects of monitoring and troubleshooting ECMO equipment during ECMO management; preparing equipment, and assisting with patient monitoring.

Qualifications
Education
Required: Associates degree or certified surg tech/paramedic/LPN/ABTC certification
Experience
Required: Minimum of 2 years progressive healthcare experience or hospital-based procedural areas. Licensed RN or RT, or Bachelor's degree in a health-related discipline may substitute for the required healthcare experience
Licensure/Certification
Required:
• Must achieve Certified Transplant Preservationist (CTP) certification through the American Board for Transplant certification (ABTC) within 12 months of hire.
• BLS certification achieved within 6 months of hire.
