Responsibilities
The Endoscopy Tech responsibilities are providing support services to Anesthesiologists; CRNAs/AAs; Fellows, and GI/Endoscopy Suite Physicians, Nursing staff, and other care providers in the provision of patient care before, during, and after GI procedures. Maintaining Anesthesia and Endoscopic equipment/accessories, supplies, and inventory. Care, handling, and reprocessing of endoscopic equipment/accessories. Set up, turn over, and take down of the procedure room. Assisting with delegated tasks of direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse and/or physicians in Endoscopy. Providing technical assistance to physicians and nursing staff during procedures as directed, within their scope of practice.
Schedule
FTE: 1.0
Hours: 7:00am-5:30pm
Days: Monday-Saturday. Two (2) Saturday shifts required per month

Qualifications
Education
Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience
Required: 1-2 years experience in a health care related role i.e. nursing assistant or PCA; MA; Anesthesia Tech
Preferred:
• College degree with emphasis on biology and human anatomy.
• Experience with high-level disinfection/sterile processing of supplies/equipment and infection control practices.
• Experience providing anesthesia support in an OR/Procedural setting is highly desirable.
• Computer experience

Licensure/Certification/Registration:
Required:
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). Must maintain BLS every 2 years or complete CPR checkoff yearly.
• Annual competencies must be met as set by department.
• Completion of Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates (SGNA) program within 12 months of hire.
• Completion of Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates (SGNA) Advanced Associates program within 18 months of hire.

Preferred: Certified Flexible Endoscope Reprocessor (CFER) or Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER) within 2 years of hire.
Demonstrated:

• Strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to work independently
• Understanding of medical terminology
