Job description
Willis Knighton Health System is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant. The Certified Medical Assistant will provide nursing care to patients in the physician's office under the supervision of the clinic physician. The supervising physician delineates the privileges and duties through skill assessment.
The job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Assessing the health status of patients and collaborating with the nursing staff and physicians to establish care procedures
• Contributing to the planning of appropriate nursing interventions
• Administering treatments in accordance with department policies and procedures
• Administering medications to patients under direct supervision and allocation of the respective clinic physician/provider
• Documenting patient assessment with objective and subjective symptoms utilizing appropriate clinical methods and records
• Providing educational needs and assisting in scheduling referral appointments and procedures as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Must be a high school graduate
• Must be a graduate of an approved medical assistant program or have verification of documented experience in a medical office setting in patient care.
• A national certificate and 2 years of experience are required.
The office hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm. A hospital-wide and a detailed departmental orientation are offered upon hire. An excellent benefits package is offered as well.
