Job description
Willis-Knighton Health System is seeking a Medical Assistant with urology experience. The Medical Assistant will provide nursing care to patients in the physician's offices under the supervision of the clinical Physician. The job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: assessing the health status of patients and collaborating with the nursing staff and physicians to establish care procedures; contributing to the planning of appropriate nursing interventions; medication administration for oral, intramuscular, subcutaneous, or intradermal; documenting patient assessment; communicate pertinent information regarding patient condition to other members of the health care team; and provides information to patient/family regarding disease process or diagnostic procedures. A Louisiana license is a requirement for this position. The applicant selected for this position will be required to attend a hospital-wide orientation as well as a department orientation upon hire.
