Job Requirements
JOB SUMMARY:
The Med/Surg unit is searching for a strong individual to be the face of the unit.
Someone who can greet families and patients as they arrive on the unit.
Someone who can calmly and appropriately respond in urgent situations.
This Team Member will handle patient, family and staff inquiries in a professional and timely manner.
The ability to multitask and prioritize is essential.
Performs clerical duties on the assigned unit.
Assists in the maintenance of a clean and safe environment.
Assists the patient care team to provide various patient care activities.
Maintains customer service focus essential for smooth unit operation.
Work Experience
Work Orientation &Experience:
One (1) year of experience as a medical and/or customer service secretary preferred.
The incumbent may require 2-3 weeks of detailed job orientation and training to perform essential job functions with a mentor and/or educator.
Skills & Abilities:
Ability to:
a) manual finger dexterity with hand-eye coordination,
b) basic computer skills and typing,
c) convey effective verbal and written communications;
d) follow directions;
e) organize and manage decisions consistent with current policies, procedures and nursing standards;
f) adapt hours of availability to variable and changing needs of the hospital, including all shifts;
g) effectively function as a member of a collaborative team;
h) respond to emergency situations appropriately.
Benefits
Full-Time Days (7am-7:30pm)
Pay Range: $17.68 - $24.76/hr. (depends on years of experience)
