Job Summary:
Supervises and coordinates all daily food service activities of patient meal service, retail service, catering, and vending operations. Performs all duties related to the daily supervision of staff and the preparation and distribution of meals for patients, team members, and visitors. Maintains and enforces regulations, policies, and procedures including Wisconsin Health Code and CMS Standards. Assures that services offered are in accordance with established quality and customer service standards. Assists manager in the recruitment, interviewing, candidate selection and retention. This position has team member oversight including direct reports. Collaborates with the Sous Chef and Manager to plan menu offerings and has oversight of meeting established budget targets. Assures that services offered are in accordance with established quality and customer service standards.
EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION:
A minimum of 1 year of formal leadership experience is required. In lieu of formal leadership experience, two years of informal coordinator leadership or four years of food service or an Associate’s Degree in Food Service Management or related field will be accepted. Previous food service leadership experience is preferred.
EDUCATION DESCRIPTION:
High School diploma or equivalent is required. Associate degree or higher in Food Service Management or a related field is highly preferred. Individuals currently enrolled in a post-secondary education program in Food Service Management or related field is preferred.
TRAINING DESCRIPTION:
AHE membership and/or CHESP accreditation is preferred. Six Sigma Green Belt certification is preferred.
SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION:
Demonstrates analytical and organizational, problem-solving, critical thinking, and conflict management/resolution skills. Demonstrates integrity, independent thinking, judgment, and respect for others. Exhibits initiative, responsibility, flexibility and leadership. Ability to provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external patients/customers. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. May require standing and walking up to 90% of the day to adequately monitor staff and supplies. Broad skills with computer operations: MSWord, Excel, PowerPoint, databases, electronic medical records, etc.
LICENSURE DESCRIPTION:
ServSafe certification is required within 6 months of date of hire.
