Speech Language Pathologist
Position Summary
Evaluates and treats speech-language disorders/disabilities for children and adults, provide appropriate recommendations for treatment and prepares complete and timely reports and documentation.
Primary Position Responsibilities
• Evaluates Speech, Language and Swallowing disorders/disabilities
• Provide therapy for targeted disabilities
• Maintains acceptable patient care productivity
• Completes thorough diagnostic reports and documents daily progress
• Counsels and educates patient/family
• Communicates with other essential medical personnel

Work Contact Group (Internal/External)
Patients and families, departmental staff, physicians, nurses, other hospital and HHS staff, school and community agency personnel.
Reporting Relationships
Reports to (position):
Speech and Hearing Clinical Coordinator
Qualifications
Minimum Education :
Required:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field
• Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology

Preferred:
Doctoral Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field
Minimum Years of Experience (Amount, Type and Variation) :
Required:
1-3 years in a healthcare setting; dysphagia experience; may consider CFY candidate.
License, Registry or Certification :
Required:
NJ Dept of Consumer Affairs Licensure Speech-Language Pathology (or eligible for).
Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities :
Required:
Computer proficiency, good communication skills
