How you’ll contribute
A Registered Nurse, RN who excels in this role:
• The IV/PICC Nurse is a Registered Nurse who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing patients individualized IV access needs, developing a specific plan related to IV Therapy needs and implementing and evaluating an individualized plan for each patient.
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Responsible for the insertion of Peripherally Inserted Central Catheters (PICC).
• Provide maintenance and follow-up care for PICC lines and central lines.
• Serve as a preceptor for RN's who have successfully completed a training course for the insertion of PICC Lines.
• Initiates training and education for nursing staff, patient/family as required.
• Provides specialized knowledge, assessment, and skills in clinical setting in regard to obtaining vascular access, maintaining vascular access and troubleshooting vascular access devices.
• Administers Cath Flow for obstructed lines, per physician order.
• Performs the appropriate application of the device algorithm.
• Performs ultrasound guided peripheral IV starts.

What we’re looking for
• Successful completion of an Associate’s Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma Program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) is required through American Heart Association (AHA) by the completion of hospital orientation
• Licenses: Requires a current state Registered Nurse license upon hire.
• Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
