Job Requirements
We are seeking an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to join our dynamic Vascular Surgery team. This role offers the opportunity to care for patients across the full continuum of vascular care—from acute inpatient emergencies to longitudinal outpatient management.
Our team cares for patients with a broad range of vascular conditions, with particular expertise in complex aortic disease and limb preservation. The APP will work closely with vascular surgeons, podiatric surgeons, and a multidisciplinary team, to provide coordinated care for patients with complex vascular and limb-threatening conditions.
Specific Role Responsibilities
• Evaluate and manage hospitalized patients with acute and chronic vascular conditions, including vascular emergencies and postoperative care
• Provide longitudinal outpatient care for patients with arterial, venous, aortic, and other vascular conditions
• Participate in the evaluation and management of patients with chronic limb-threatening ischemia and complex wounds , with a focus on limb preservation
• Collaborate closely with vascular and podiatric surgeons to coordinate multidisciplinary limb salvage care
• Review diagnostic imaging and vascular studies and incorporate findings into patient care plans
• Perform comprehensive assessments, develop treatment plans, order appropriate testing and therapies, and provide patient and family education
• Facilitate transitions of care between the inpatient and ambulatory settings
• Work collaboratively with physicians, APPs, nursing, wound care, rehabilitation, and other multidisciplinary partners

This position is ideal for an APP who enjoys clinical variety, autonomy, multidisciplinary collaboration, and developing long-term relationships with patients.
Schedule: Three days per week, including approximately one weekend per month.
Work Experience
• Master of Science Degree with completion of an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program. Registered and currently recorded with the Maryland Board of Examiners of Nurses and Certified as a Nurse Practitioner in the State of Maryland. Certified in area of specialty. (DEA and CDS eligible).
• CPR required
• ACLS/BCLS as required for inpatient work.
• A minimum of one (1) year experience as a Registered Nurse is required.
• Demonstrated ability to promote professionalism through involvement in professional organizations, teaching, research, publishing, and/or certification in area of specialty.
• Ability to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patient population(s) served. Ability to demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s requirements relative to his or her population-specific and age specific needs.
• Highly effective verbal and written communication skills are required to interact with patient families, departmental units, medical and nursing staff on all essential matters. Demonstrated/documented effective interpersonal skills.
• Maintains updated hospital safety and other mandatory training.
• Updated immunizations as recommended per practice area.
