At Willis Knighton Pierremont, our Acute Telemetry unit consists of 30 beds and is located on the 4th floor. Our primary population of patients includes those with cardiac disease. Our unit offers motivated staff the opportunity to collaborate with a team that is committed to maintaining high standards of quality patient and family-centered care. As a Nursing Assistant, duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting nurses by providing direct patient care such as assisting with activities of daily living (bathing, positioning, ambulating, toileting, meal assistance, recording vital signs). Additional responsibilities include communication and collaboration with nursing and allied health professionals regarding assessment findings, patient health concerns, and following the patient’s plan of care. Through this range of clinical experience, you will gain knowledge, confidence and build teamwork among your peers through shared experiences. Hospital orientation, in addition to unit specific orientation, will be provided.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Should be in excellent health and exhibit good strength and coordination.
• Skill and proficiency in performing basic patient care procedures as acquired through a qualified nursing assistant/attendant program or comparable hospital experience.
• Interpersonal skills as required in direct patient contact.
• Maintains effective communication and working relationships with all persons on the unit and in the Health System.
• Ability to read, write and understand written instructions.
