Position Summary
This position is responsible for providing administrative support to the Medical Staff Services department. This position manages the credentialing, privileging, and administrative operations for all healthcare providers practicing within the organization.
Primary Functions
• Credentialing & Privileging – Process initial applications, reappointments, and verify licenses, background checks and certification.
• Regulatory Compliance – Ensure alignment with standards from Joint Commission.
• Committee Coordination – Schedule meetings, prepare agendas, and document minutes for medical staff, med exec, dept of surgery, dept of medicine, infection control, pharmacy and therapeutics, quality and patient safety. Also completes pathology and operative review, mortality review and chief of staff report for hospital board meeting.
• Data Management – Maintains secure, confidential databases tracking provider education, peer reviews, and performance evaluations.
• Medical Staff By-Laws/Policies/ Rules & Regulations – Maintains and updates as needed.
• Provider On Call Schedule – Manages this online.
• OSU Medical Student Orientation – Assist with this on a monthly basis.
• Onboarding – Works with provider liaison to ensure new providers are oriented appropriately.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Associate’s degree preferred.
Experience: Three to five years of administrative experience in a medical setting preferred.
