Medical Laboratory Technician or Scientist

Job description

Performs and reports variety of simple to complex laboratory procedures and tests which involve limited independent judgment and interpretation but which require the use of scientific technique and skills to operate certain sophisticated electronic laboratory equipment.
Minimum Qualifications
• Previous Medical Laboratory Technician or Scientist experience preferred.
• Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, or a related scientific field (OR) U.S. Military medical laboratory training required. Other education may serve in lieu of required associate's degree when combined with a Medical Laboratory Technician or Scientist certification from the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or American Medical Technologists (AMT).
• Certification as Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) by American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or American Medical Technologists (AMT) required within one year from hire or placement.
