What you'll do
Responsible for coordination of the Infection Prevention and Control Program. Under the direction of the Network Director of Infection Prevention, the Infection Prevention Coordinator implements and evaluates the infection control program including survey readiness. This includes implementing a systematic approach to identifying, measuring, prioritizing and monitoring all infection control activities including new processes and services. Inherent in this role is the ability to ensure data integrity, the ability to prioritize and recommend improvements, decrease duplication, and ensure compliance with The Joint Commission (TJC), CDC, APIC, CMS, New York State standards and regulations along with any other applicable regulatory agencies. The coordinator collaborates with front-line staff, physicians and senior leadership to effectively measure, assess and continuously improve quality of care and services provided. The coordinator serves as Infection Control Officer and is a resource for education and consultation on infection control related topics for staff.
• Accomplishes objectives, strategies and tactics for the Infection Control program
• Monitors operating performance standards for the infection control program which ensure the effective day-to-day operation
• Assist the Director in reviewing reported trends in financial performance and determine if and when intervention or corrective actions are required, develop analysis of options and alternatives and implement or recommend implementation of interventions when indicated
• Establishes timely and effective communication with staff (as appropriate) to keep them aware of important infection control related findings
• Provides the operational link to the functional work teams
• Works in collaboration with other managers, directors and departments to meet organizational priorities
• Accepts responsibility for all aspects of leadership without blame, complaining or procrastination
• Identifies and corrects systems, care and service delivery problems which interfere with patient, staff and customer satisfaction issues and/or recommends action to appropriate party
• Ensures compliance with all regulatory agency requirements (e.g. TJC, CDC, NYSDOH)
• Proactively identifies potential and actual risks to safety, identifies the underlying causes and makes necessary improvements so risk is reduced
• Provides implementation support for new projects, as well as, develops sustainable plans during the process
• Monitors accomplishment of agreed upon objectives at the departmental level; and where appropriate, institutes corrective actions, including reallocating resources, reprioritizing, and/or recommending modifications to established plans
• A leader who thinks globally and adopts philosophy of continuous improvement for Bassett processes/systems and develops working relationships with partners in the Bassett Network and outside to effect positive results
• Regularly assesses opportunities to enhance system(s) performance
• Develops action plans and completes them to improve patient and employee satisfaction
• As appropriate, takes action to create a better experience for patients traversing the continuum of care
What we need from you
Education:
• 2 Year/Associate Degree, RN License, required
• 4 Year/ Bachelor's Degree, BSN, preferred
Experience:
• Minimum 5 years hospital-based clinical experience in Nursing, required
• Preference given to those with experience in Infection Prevention and Control or Public Health
Licensure/Certifications:
• CIC (Certification in Infection Control), preferred

Physical Requirements:
• Light Work - Exerting up to 20 lbs of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg control requires exertion of forces greater than that of sedentary work and if the worker sits most of the time, the job is considered light work
• Occasional crouching, kneeling, lifting, pulling, pushing, standing, walking
• Frequent talking
• Constant typing/clerical/dexterity, hearing, seeing/monitor/computer use
Hazards:
• Occasional bodily fluids/bloodborne exposure
Travel:
• Occasional Travel – the job may require travel from time-to-time, but not on a regular basis

Pay Transparency
Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards. The above compensation range represents a good faith belief of the compensation range by Bassett Healthcare Network, and its entities and affiliates, at the time of this posting or advertisement.
Pay Range Minimum:
USD $86,097.70/Yr.
Pay Range Maximum:
USD $130,436.80/Yr.
