Fitness Specialist - Per Diem

POSITION SUMMARY
The Fitness Specialist is responsible for providing professional fitness service to members and clients for the Life Center, based on their training to appropriately meet their health and fitness needs.
This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation.
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
Demonstrates the competencies as established on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool for this position.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Potential for exposure to the hazards and risk of the hospital environment, including exposure to infectious disease, hazardous substances, and potential injury. This position requires frequent walking and standing and occasional lifting up to 20 lbs.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
This position reports to department leadership.

EDUCATION: Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in Exercise Science or related science required.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: BLS certification required within 90 days from date of hire or transfer. Nationally recognized Personal Training certification required within 90 days of hire or transfer. ACSM Health Fitness instructor, NSCA, NASM, or ACE Personal Trainer certification preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Experience working with a medical fitness program preferred.
