Starting at $20.00 per hour, plus shift differentials for evening, night, and weekend shifts.
The Environmental Services Technician assigned to the Behavioral Health Unit is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, safe, and therapeutic environment for pediatric behavioral health patients, visitors, and staff. This role requires professionalism, discretion, and an understanding of the unique needs of a behavioral health setting. The EVS Technician will perform routine and specialized cleaning duties while adhering to all hospital safety, infection prevention, behavioral health security, and patient privacy requirements.
General Responsibilities:
• Clean and disinfect patient rooms, group therapy rooms, nursing stations, activity areas, bathrooms, offices, and other areas within the Behavioral Health Unit.
• Maintain carpeted and hard floor surfaces using appropriate equipment and procedures, including stripping, waxing, and floor refinishing as needed.
• Cleans, buffs and washes hard surfaces (furniture, walls, chairs, tables)
• Perform routine and terminal cleaning of patient care areas according to established schedules, checklists, and department procedures.
• Empty, handle, and transport trash, linen, recyclable materials, and regulated waste to designated disposal areas.
• Observe and report maintenance, safety, security, or environmental concerns to the appropriate department.
• Follow all behavioral health unit safety procedures, including maintaining awareness of patient-sensitive items and potential environmental risks.
• Interact respectfully and professionally with pediatric patients, families, visitors, and hospital staff.
• Assist Facilities Management with maintenance and upkeep tasks, including snow removal, grounds cleanup, and minor handyman duties as assigned.
• Work independently with normal supervision while maintaining productivity and quality standards.
• Comply with all hospital policies, infection prevention protocols, safety regulations, and risk management requirements.
• Attend required training programs and assist in the orientation and training of new employees as needed.
• Perform all duties in accordance with OSHA standards and applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Job Qualifications:
Experience/Knowledge:
• High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience.
• 2 years of housekeeping and floor tech experience preferred.
• Experience in all phases of floor and carpet care required.
• Knowledge of cleaning agents, equipment and methods of soil removal.

Monday - Wednesday (Day Shift) and
Thursday - Saturday (Day Shift)
Rotating Weekends
