Position: Digital Projects Intern
Department: Wiggins Memorial Library
Status: Part Time
Summary Job Description:
The Digital Projects Intern assists with describing and uploading archival materials to the digital library. This position assists in the creation of metadata for scanned files. The Digital Projects Intern may also do light processing of the archival materials when organization is necessary prior to scanning. Finally, this position may engage in other duties related to digital initiatives, such as file inventorying, data entry, scanning and archival research.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Apply appropriate standards to create metadata.
• Scan historic documents and photographs using established procedures and archival standards.
• Ensure proper handling and refiling of archival materials.
• This position demands accuracy, honesty, integrity and the ability to work within the Christian mission of Campbell University.
• Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
• Other duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.

Education/Experience:
• Applicants must be enrolled in the MSLS or MSIS program at one of North Carolina’s accredited Library programs.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Demonstrated interest in the creation and management of digital information.
• Excellent attention to detail and visual acuity.
• Ability to work independently with moderate supervision.
• Comfort performing repetitive tasks.
• Knowledge or relevant coursework related to digitization or metadata
• Proficient in the use of computers, productivity software, the Internet, and basic office equipment such as scanners.
• Demonstrate tact, a positive attitude, courtesy and discretion.
• Exercise independent judgment in complex and new situations.
• Manage multiple, concurrent projects, and meet deadlines.
