Clerical Associate – Surgical Trauma Intensive Care Unit (STICU)
Position Overview
The STICU Clerical Associate provides essential administrative and communication support in a fast-paced critical care environment. This role helps ensure efficient unit operations by supporting nurses, physicians, patients’ families, and other healthcare departments while maintaining a professional, organized, and compassionate atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities
• Communication: Answer phone calls, relay messages, direct inquiries, and facilitate communication among healthcare team members.
• Patient & Family Support: Greet visitors, provide assistance, and interact with families in a compassionate and professional manner.
• Administrative Support: Maintain records, organize documentation, assist with admissions and transfers, and support daily nursing station operations.
• Unit Coordination: Communicate with hospital departments, help coordinate requests, and maintain an organized, well-stocked workspace.
• Confidentiality & Compliance: Protect patient information and follow HIPAA guidelines and hospital policies.
• Teamwork: Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and support staff to promote an efficient, safe, and patient-centered environment.
Qualifications & Skills
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
• Basic computer skills and willingness to learn hospital systems.
• Professionalism, dependability, and attention to detail.
• Ability to remain calm and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to patient confidentiality, compassion, and teamwork.
