This is a 100% onsite opportunity. Applicants must be based in the greater Chicagoland area.
As a Cardiac Sonographer, Registry, you will perform transthoracic and stress echocardiograms, obtain diagnostic-quality images, accurately document studies, and provide compassionate, patient-centered care while maintaining the highest quality standards.
Essential Job Functions
• Prepares patients for transthoracic and stress echocardiograms by reviewing physician orders, indications, medical history, and previous studies.
• Performs echocardiographic imaging in accordance with departmental protocols and quality standards.
• Obtains diagnostic-quality cardiac ultrasound images.
• Communicates effectively and compassionately with patients, families, physicians, and staff.
• Documents procedures, reports, and charges using Epic and the Xcelera cardiovascular imaging system.
• Maintains accurate patient records and imaging documentation.
• Promotes patient safety and comfort throughout each examination.
• Maintains ultrasound equipment and reports operational concerns as appropriate.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of an accredited Cardiac Ultrasound/Echocardiography training program.
• Minimum of two years of professional cardiac sonography or echocardiography experience.
• Current cardiac sonography credential through one of the following:
• Registered Cardiac Sonographer through Cardiovascular Credentialing International; or
• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
• Current Basic Life Support certification.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience using Epic electronic medical records.
• Experience using Xcelera cardiovascular imaging software.
• Previous hospital or academic medical center experience.
