About the Role:
The Wooster Heart Group RN/LPN/MA position is a critical role within a specialized cardiology practice, focused on delivering exceptional patient care and supporting clinical operations. The primary objective is to assist cardiologists and healthcare providers in managing patient flow, conducting preliminary assessments, and ensuring accurate documentation of patient histories and vital signs. This role demands a compassionate and detail-oriented professional who can effectively communicate with patients, families, and the healthcare team to facilitate smooth clinical processes. The successful candidate will contribute to improving patient outcomes by providing timely and efficient clinical support, coordinating care, and educating patients on treatment plans and follow-up procedures. Minimum Qualifications:
• Current and valid licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), or Medical Assistant (MA) in the state of employment.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year clinical experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in cardiology or a related specialty.
• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience working in a cardiology or specialty medical practice.
• Familiarity with cardiac diagnostic equipment such as EKG machines and Holter monitors.
• Additional certifications such as Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), or Registered Nurse (RN).
• Demonstrated ability to educate patients on cardiovascular health and disease management.
Responsibilities:
• Perform patient intake procedures including recording vital signs, medical histories, and current symptoms.
• Assist cardiologists during examinations and diagnostic procedures by preparing patients and equipment.
• Manage patient scheduling, follow-up appointments, and coordinate referrals as needed.
• Document clinical information accurately in electronic health records and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
• Provide patient education regarding medications, lifestyle modifications, and post-procedure care instructions.
• Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment, ensuring all medical supplies and equipment are properly stocked and sterilized.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to optimize patient care and workflow efficiency.
Skills:
The required clinical skills enable the candidate to perform accurate patient assessments, vital sign measurements, and assist with cardiology-specific procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort. Proficiency in electronic health records is essential for maintaining precise documentation and facilitating communication among healthcare providers. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are used daily to educate patients, coordinate care, and collaborate effectively with the healthcare team. Preferred skills such as familiarity with cardiac diagnostic tools and advanced certifications enhance the ability to support complex clinical tasks and improve patient outcomes. Shift: Day Shift
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Weekends/Holidays: No regularly scheduled weekends or holidays
Employment Status: Full-Time
Budgeted Hours: 40 hours per week | 1.0 FTE
