Position Title: Weekend Moonlighting Position for Residents/Fellows (local area 3rd or 4th year only)
Location: Harahan, LA
River Oaks Hospital is recruiting a Psychiatrist for their Inpatient Adult and Addiction Programs. River Oaks Hospital, located in the suburbs of New Orleans, Louisiana, is a 126-bed private psychiatric facility for adults, adolescents, and children. Among our programs is The New Orleans Institute, a nationally recognized trauma treatment program. For the past 40 years, River Oaks has established a tradition of excellence in the treatment of acute psychiatric illness, dual diagnosis, alcohol and drug detoxification, trauma-based disorders, compulsive behaviors and eating disorders.
Position Overview:
• Employment Type: W2 weekend PRN
• Schedule / Hours: Onsite only, Saturday and Sunday rounding, overnight tele-phonic call starting at 5 PM Friday PM until Monday at 7 AM off-site
• Patient Volume: Will vary, all ages
• Location: Harahan, LA
• Practice Setting: Inpatient all ages
• Call requirements: 1 -2 weekends per month preferred
• Support / Care Team: Multidisciplinary with BH Techs, BH RN, Psychiatric NPs, Social Workers, and Therapists
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct admission evaluations, develop treatment plans, and provide ongoing treatment follow-up for child and adolescent patients.
• Participate in daily treatment team meetings.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care.
• Complete required patient documentation and notes in accordance with facility guidelines.
Compensation and Benefits:
• Competitive weekend rates
• Position duties include admission evaluations, daily care of assigned patients in the programs, treatment team leadership and interaction with administrative and clinical staff.
Qualifications:
• Local area only - 3rd or 4th year Psychiatry Reisdents or Fellows
• Must be comfortable treating all ages and interested in Women’s Behavioral Health, and/or candidates with eating disorder or trauma-focused experience is preferred
• Active LA license and DEA or ability to obtain licensure
