What We're Looking For
Novant Health is seeking a compassionate and experienced Hospitalist to join our growing team serving both Novant Health New Hanover Medical Center and the recently opened Novant Health Scotts Hill Medical Center in Wilmington, North Carolina.
This unique opportunity offers the best of both worlds: practice in a large tertiary-care medical center while also helping shape the culture and patient experience at a brand-new community hospital that opened July 2026. Physicians will collaborate with an established team of Hospitalists and APPs while providing high-quality inpatient care across both facilities.

Novant Health Scotts Hill Medical Center
• Brand-new hospital opened July 2026
• Serving residents of northern New Hanover and eastern Pender counties
• Open ICU with 24/7 tele-intensivist support
• Daily onsite Pulmonary/Critical Care support
• Procedures required
• Inpatient care with admissions and rounding responsibilities
• Collaborative physician and APP staffing model

Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center
• Tertiary-care regional referral center
• Closed ICU environment
• No procedures required
• Robust specialist support
• Inpatient care including admissions, rounding, and discharge management

Responsibilities
• Provide comprehensive inpatient medical care across both facilities
• Participate in admissions, rounding, discharge planning, and care transitions
• Collaborate with physicians, APPs, specialists, nursing, and care management teams
• Deliver patient-centered, evidence-based care in a team-oriented environment
• Support quality improvement initiatives and clinical excellence

Schedule
• 7-on/7-off schedule
• Primarily day-shift coverage
• Participation in rotating mid-shift coverage (approximately 2:00 PM – 12:00 AM)
• Flexibility to assist with occasional night coverage as needed
• Typical shifts are approximately 12 hours

Candidate Qualifications
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
• Graduate of an accredited school of medicine
• Ability to thrive in both community and tertiary-care hospital settings

Additional Compensation Details
