Overview
Responsibilities
Receives training to support the surgical team by holding retractors and assisting with various tasks to
ensure efficiency and patient safety in the operating room.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Demonstrates written, interpersonal,
and communication skills as appropriate
to position
Working knowledge of OR instruments,
equipment and procedures
If competency is achieved (attainment
of competency test score required by
department management) and upon
successful completion of departmental
orientation, the employee will be
promoted to Surgical Aide
If competency is not achieved,
employee must be moved out of this
position or terminated in accordance
with IH policy and procedures
Licensure, Registration, Certification:
BLS
