The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
Responsibilities:
The Supervisor, Social Worker in collaboration with the Social Work Director for OB/GYN, Pediatrics and Community Outreach is responsible for overseeing the delivery of quality social work services in assigned area, ensures that social work services are provided according to professional standards, and in accordance with the policies, procedures and protocols, collaborates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of interdisciplinary programs that integrate social work in the departments and represents the Social Work Division on interdisciplinary committees within the assigned areas.
The Supervisor Social Worker provides clinical services to families of patients in the area of assignment and to other patients in the absence of other social work staff. The Supervisor Social Worker serves as a liaison with health and social service agencies in the community.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• The Supervisor, Social Worker is responsible for collaborating with Division chairs in assigned specialty areas and social work leadership to assess the need for social work services, develop appropriate social work staffing, and service models, and provide continuous monitoring and enhancement of social work service delivery.
• Provides social work services to identified patients and their families which includes psychosocial assessments, service plans to address identified needs and that promote health outcomes and patient safety. Identifies and manages cases of suspected child abuse or neglect. Provides discharge planning and participates in interdisciplinary rounds. Documents services in the patient’s medical record and provide handoffs to next level of care services to offer continuity of care. Serves as a Hospital pediatric social work consultant
• The Supervisor, Social Worker provides clinical and administrative supervision to assigned social work staff, develops, enhances, and maintains program descriptions and professional social work position descriptions. Recruits, orients and trains new assigned staff. Ensures that services provided by assigned social work staff conform to the quality assurance standards and clinical policies and procedures of the Social Work Division, clinical area and State and Federal regulatory agencies. Applies personnel management actions including disciplinary measures and termination of employment when necessary. Ensures assigned staff completion of all required Hospital and Social Work Division training, orientation, competencies, performance evaluation, licensing and any other required documentation, Ensures appropriate risk management of critical social work practice events in consultation with the Social Work Director. Conducts productivity monitoring, medical record documentation and clinical audits.
• Participates in Social Work Division, and interdisciplinary, leadership committees. Collaborates within the groups to achieve key metrics, strategic plans, patient and staff satisfaction. Participates in continuous professional development and incorporates new knowledge into clinical and administrative practice.
• May participate in research, grant supported initiatives and hospital, local, state and national presentations.
• Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
• Master's degree from an accredited school of Social Work and 2 years of professional social work practice required
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
• LMSW - Licensed Medical Social Worker - State Licensure as defined by the State Board for Social Work, State Education department, Division of Professional Licensing Services upon hire required
