Supervisor Respiratory Therapy

The Supervisor Respiratory Therapy leads the daily activities of the Respiratory Services department. This role supervises team members that assess patients with respiratory disorders, conduct diagnostic tests, develop treatment plans, and administer respiratory therapy. This role works closely with healthcare teams to manage respiratory conditions, improve lung function, and enhance patient well-being.
Essential Job Function:
• Oversees day-to-day operations of clinical staff and ensures proper patient care is provided in order to alleviate pain and improve patient' pulmonary function.
• Supervises pulmonary function tests, assesses and interprets evaluations and test results, and determines respiratory therapy treatment plans in consultation with physicians and by prescription.
• Evaluates effects of respiratory therapy treatment plan by observing, noting, and evaluating patient’s progress and recommending adjustments and modifications.
• Oversees the maintenance and quality testing of equipment in the respiratory services department to ensure the equipment needs of the team are met.
• Participates in the development and implementation of new respiratory programs alongside department leadership to achieve organizational objectives.
• Assists the human resources of the department to ensure talent needs are met, including hiring, scheduling, performance evaluation, and developmental opportunities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education:
• Required: Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.

Experience:
• Required: 3 years of Critical Care experience with some leadership experience.

Licensure/Certification/Listing:
• Required: Certified by the National Board of Respiratory Care as a RRT Licensed by the North Carolina Respiratory Care Board as a CRT or RRTBLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider ACLS-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
