About Allegan
Beacon Allegan includes 25 staffed beds and delivers specialty and 24/7 emergency care. Services at the hospital include primary care, orthopedics, cancer, general surgery, radiology, pulmonology, dermatology, vascular, neurology, cardiac rehab and audiology. We also offer a wide range of minimally invasive procedures, imaging and lab tests, a dedicated inpatient rehabilitation center and a wound and hyperbaric center.
What You'll Do
As a Student, you'll be an active participant in an established School-to-Work program or an internship role where school credit is applied. You'll commit to the learning environment by observing and asking questions in a hospital/healthcare setting. Duties may vary based on the unit or department assigned.
Student Job Responsibilities
• Participates actively in an established School-to-Work program or in an internship role where school credit is applied.
• Commits to and participates in the learning environment by observing and asking questions.
• Attends and participates in department meetings and is accountable for all information shared.
• Completes mandatory education, annual competencies, and department-specific education within established timeframes.
• Completes annual employee health requirements within established timeframes.
• Maintains license, certification, and registration in good standing throughout the fiscal year.
• Direct patient care providers maintain current BCLS (CPR) and other certifications as required by position or department.
• Consistently uses appropriate universal precautions, protective equipment, and ergonomic techniques to protect patient and self.
• Adheres to regulatory agency requirements, survey process, and compliance.
• Complies with established organization and department policies.
• Is available to work overtime in addition to working additional or other shifts and schedules when required.

• Physical ability and stamina to perform the essential functions of the position
