The Stress Test Technologist performs a range of cardiovascular diagnostic tests, including nuclear stress tests, exercise stress tests, and stress echocardiograms. This role is responsible for accurately preparing and editing tests results using MUSE for distribution. The position delivers exceptional customer service through prioritization of patient safety, preferences, and effective communication. The role partners with patients, families, colleagues, and external stakeholders to deliver accurate cardiac diagnostics, patient-centered care, and optimal outcomes.Performs high-risk nuclear stress tests, exercise treadmill tests, and stress echocardiograms independently to assess patients' cardiovascular health and diagnose conditions. This position requires the ability to accurately assess ECGs, indications, and contraindications to exercise testing, and patients response to testing. Performs a high level of decision making, partnering with appropriate resources to ensure patient safety and quality care.
Essential Job Function:
• Records information about the patient’s medical history, drug use, family history of heart disease, and any other factors that may affect the outcome of the stress test.
• Monitors the patient’s heart rate, blood pressure, electrocardiogram (ECG), and breathing rate during the stress test.
• Prepares patients for stress tests by explaining how the test will be conducted, what they will experience during the test, and what sensations they may feel during the test.
• Prepares equipment for testing, including attaching electrodes to measure electrical activity in the heart and inflating blood pressure cuffs on arms.
• Records information about the test in a chart or computer file for future reference.
• Follows established safety procedures during testing, such as ensuring that emergency equipment is readily available and properly functioning.
• If trained by staff education and demonstrates competency, performs IV insertion and maintains IV competency skills on an annual basis.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education:
• Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience:
• Required: 1 year

Licensure/Certification/Listing:
• Required: Certified Cardiographic Technician (CCT) by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI): or Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist (CEP) by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM)BLS (CPR) American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider ACLS (CPR) American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
