Sterile Supply Associate

The Department of Central Sterile Supply at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time TH CTS Sterile Supply Associate. The successful candidate will:
• Perform activities both physical and in the Lawson PeopleSoft Oracle Cloud system to monitor and ensure that inventory levels are balanced and accurate.
• Upload deliveries, rotate and transfer stock as required.
• Enter and track all paper requisitions for inventory supplies into the Lawson system.
• Enter and prepare for physical inventory and cycle counts.
• Verify computations against physical count.
• Generate and maintain labeling of all inventory bins and par locations.
• Verify receipt of stock entered.
• Fill requests for supplies.
• Perform other job-related tasks/assignments as business need warrants.
• Monitor physical and electronic inventory to maintain accurate and balanced stock levels.
• Receive deliveries and verify the quantity and accuracy of supplies received.
• Enter, upload, and confirm deliveries in the applicable inventory-control system.
• Unpack, organize, rotate, transfer, and store stock in designated inventory locations.
• Enter and track paper and electronic requisitions for inventory supplies.
• Process departmental requests and distribute supplies accurately and promptly.
• Prepare for and participate in physical inventories and scheduled cycle counts.
• Compare electronic inventory records with physical counts and investigate discrepancies.
• Verify inventory calculations, stock balances, receipts, transfers, and adjustments.
• Generate, update, and maintain labels for inventory bins, shelves, and par locations.
• Monitor par levels and assist with the replenishment of frequently used supplies.
• Identify and report shortages, overstock, expired products, damaged supplies, and inventory discrepancies.
• Rotate stock according to expiration dates and established inventory practices.
• Maintain accurate records of receipts, requisitions, transfers, adjustments, and supply distribution.
• Communicate inventory needs and supply concerns to Central Sterile Supply leadership.
• Maintain clean, organized, and appropriately labeled inventory and storage areas.
• Use Microsoft Office applications to prepare correspondence, spreadsheets, reports, and inventory documentation.
• Follow departmental policies and applicable hospital safety and infection-prevention requirements.
• Lift, move, transport, and place supplies in designated inventory locations.
• Perform other job-related duties and assignments as operational needs require.

Required Qualifications
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience performing inventory-control procedures, preferably in a healthcare setting.
• Working knowledge of the Lawson, PeopleSoft, and/or Oracle Cloud inventory-control system.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access.
• Experience receiving, tracking, storing, rotating, transferring, and distributing inventory.
• Ability to conduct physical inventories and cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies.
• Ability to maintain accurate electronic and manual inventory records.
• Strong organizational, mathematical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to lift, move, and place stock in designated inventory locations.
• Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position safely and consistently.
• Or, a satsifactory equivalent combination of experience, education and training.

Preferred Qualifications
• An Associate's and/or Bachelor’s Degree.
• Previous work experience in a Central Sterile Supply distribution environment within a hospital or medical center.
• Experience managing medical, surgical, or sterile-processing inventory.
• Experience using computerized healthcare inventory and supply-chain systems.
