Staffing Coordinator

Job Requirements
Supports the Division of Nursing in coordinating daily staffing across nursing units. Maintains staffing assignments according to established patient ratios and acuity considerations. Collaborates with nursing managers and supervisors to address staffing changes and coverage needs. Coordinates per diem and agency nursing personnel, maintains staffing records, and prepares requested reports. Promotes timely communication and cost-effective staffing practices.
Communicate sick calls, unplanned absences, and other staffing changes promptly to nursing managers or their designees.
• Record staffing and scheduling changes accurately in required schedules, forms, and staffing records.
• Assist nursing managers in staffing units using internal, contract, per diem, and other available nursing personnel.
• Adjust daily staffing and serve as a resource on assignments based on established patient acuity and staffing ratios.
• Collaborate with nursing management and supervisors to address coverage needs and support cost-effective staffing.
• Review, document, and coordinate requests for per diem nursing personnel from clinical managers or designees.
• Schedule and coordinate placement of per diem nursing personnel across nursing units.
• Coordinate required orientation and evaluation processes for per diem personnel in accordance with policy.
• Maintain staffing and scheduling files, prepare requested reports, and complete special projects assigned by nursing leadership.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
• Maintain employee information as confidential. Ensure impartial oversight of employee sensitive information.

Work Experience
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Three years of progressively responsible secretarial or administrative work experience.
• Basic to moderate computer skills; no licensure or certification required.
• Ability to collate data and prepare documents for outward communication.
