SUMMARY
Senior Accounts Payable Specialist should have strong communication, problem-solving and organizational skills, as well as the ability to multitask and adjust to changing priorities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Review invoices for appropriate documentation, coding and approval prior to processing
• Entering and uploading invoices into Premier
• Process invoices and check requests in an accurate and timely manner
• Maintain vendors such as AP locations and payment terms
• Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues
• Communicate with vendors regarding payment status, invoice requests and inquiries
• Work vendor statements each month and follows up on old invoices
• Assist with month-end closing
• Provide supporting documentation for audits
• Scan all invoices keyed and index
• Research and resolve accounts payable or accounts receivable issues with customers or vendors
• Maintain 1099 information on vendors and help process 1099’s at year end
• Participate in system upgrades and process improvement initiatives
• Serve as a resource and mentor to Accounts Payable staff by providing guidance, training, and support

QUALIFICATIONS
Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
Must have 2 years experience with an automated AP System, knowledge of SC sales & use tax, knowledge of W-9 and 1099 regulations.
