Job Summary
Performs experiments designed to supply specific information as a part of a larger project; an answer to questions in a limited field; or, in development of improved techniques, production methods or procedures.
Responsibilities
What you will do
• Exercises considerable imagination, initiative, and inventiveness in planning and executing the details of experiments, and in evaluating and interpreting the results.
• Responsible for major participation in the development and revision of techniques.
• Assembles and operates laboratory apparatus and equipment.
• Collaborates or assists with supervisor and senior research staff with preparation of reports and grant requests.
• Provides oversight and special training to technical personnel, and/or highly technical work in medical and related research projects as assigned or delegated.
• Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
• Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
• Performs other research or experimental tasks in the field of specialization that reflect in terms of difficulty the level of experience and training required for the position.
• May also be responsible for oversight of an ancillary laboratory.
• Establishes and maintains an open communication process throughout the corporation that reaches patients, visitors, families, physicians, and team members such that each feels that they are treated special each time they encounter Orlando Health.

Qualifications
• Master’s degree required.
• Knowledge of various laboratory equipment and apparatus.
