Registered Nurse (RN) - Vascular Access Team (Days) (PRN)

Job description

The RN Vascular Access Specialist (IV Nurse) has skill in inserting IVs and is able to function autonomously within the Acute inpatient and outpatient care settings to guide the management of vascular access devices in complex patient, optimizing comfort and patient outcome while reducing risk for complications of care. The Vascular Access Specialist demonstrates the ability to communicate with care providers across the care continuum to support patient evaluation, access selection and insertion as approved, early removal and supports continual development of the IV access program.
Qualifications
Education:
• Associate's Degree or 2 years of college coursework

Experience:
• Two years of related experience. Requires a working knowledge of standard practices and procedures.
• PICC experience required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Meets appropriate RN level requirement according to clinical ladder policy.
• NOTE: BLS within 30 days
• Previous experience in IV therapy (includes starting IVs, assessing and maintaining sites and administering IV meds and infusions)

Licenses & Certifications:
• GEORGIA REGISTERED NURSE LICENSE OR MULTISTATE NURSING LICENSE
• HEALTHCARE PROVIDER (CPR)
