The RN manages patient care in the healthcare continuum to achieve optimum outcomes in a safe and cost-effective manner and demonstrates skills in collaboration, delegation, negotiation, and management of resources.Responsibilities will include:
• Perform PICC, midline, and ultrasound-guided peripheral IV placement.
• Support difficult IV access, blood draws, line troubleshooting, and appropriate device selection.
• Provide care, maintenance, and ongoing evaluation of central lines, PICCs, midlines, and hemodialysis catheters.
• Educate patients and clinical staff on vascular access care and evidence-based practices.
• Conduct chart audits, review safety events, monitor documentation compliance, and support CLABSI-reduction efforts.
• Serve as a clinical resource and assist with high-acuity patient care events when not performing sterile procedures.
• Participate in hospital and network committees Exceptional Skills and Qualifications
• Graduate of National League for Nursing (NLN), Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), or National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA) accredited school of nursing, or three years of related professional nursing experience
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid license to practice in the state of Indiana as listed in the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC)
• Registered Nurse with strong clinical assessment skills.
• Two years of RN experience preferred
• PICC, midline, and ultrasound-guided IV experience preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of vascular access management, infection prevention, and quality improvement.
