• DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
• The Registered Nurse, as an integral member of the patient care team, functions as the coordinator of patient care for childbearing patients/families within the single room maternity care philosophy. Supervises, directs and delegates to other patient care team members. Has accountability for gynecological surgical and childbearing patient/family care, outcomes, and customer satisfaction. Serves as a clinical expert, role model, resource, supervisor and care integrator for the surgical and childbearing patient and her family.
• QUALIFICATIONS
• Professional/Educational
• Current Illinois license with biennial renewal.
• Minimum of one year of LDRP or LDR experience required.
• Basic electronic fetal heart monitoring class preferred.
• Certified by the American Heart Association in Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
• Certified in infant resuscitation (NRP) within 30 days of hire.
• DCFS Mandated Reporter Certificate of Completion required.
• Personal
• Maintains good physical and emotional well being.
• Possesses the ability to handle emergency situations.
• Demonstrates leadership and teaching ability.
• Works effectively with others.
