Registered Nurse, Per Diem Varies Pain Management, Atlantic Health Overlook Medical Center

Job description

The responsibility of the department is to ensure high quality nursing care to patients having Pain Management procedures according to American Society of Pain Management Nurses (ASPMN), American Heart Association, ASPAN, NJ State Department of Health, CDC, CMS, OSHA and TJC recommendations. The department provides peripheral nerve blocks, nerve injections, nerve ablations, tenotomy and epidural procedures. The scope of care includes independently assessing patient needs, making collaborative decisions relative to all phases of care, pre-procedure, intraprocedural, and recovery while maintaining patient safety, monitoring, and high-quality patient care.
The Pain Management Center provides care to outpatients. The hours of operation for the Pain Management Center are Monday through Friday 7:30 AM until 4:00PM. Emergency physician services are not available through the Pain Center. Patients must contact their pain physician directly with any concerns.
Pain management procedures performed include but are not limited to: peripheral nerve blocks, nerve injections, nerve ablations, tenotomy, stimulator implants and epidural procedures
Principal Accountabilities:
• Maintains accurate, complete health care records and reports.
• Administers medications to patients and monitors them for side effects and reactions.
• Prescribes assistive medical devices and related treatments.
• Monitors, reports, and records symptoms or changes in patient conditions.
• Assesses, implements, plans, or evaluates patient nursing care plans by working with healthcare team members.
• Records patient vital signs and medical information.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required:
• Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program.
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse.
• BLS certification.
• Be able to stand for long periods of time wearing lead apron

Preferred:
1. Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
a. All ASN must complete their BSN studies within five years of their start date.
• Master’s degree in nursing or related field.
• 1+ year of experience in Nursing or relevant area.
• ACLS certification.
