Registered Nurse - OR Per Diem requires participation in on-call and holiday rotation

Job description

Position Summary:
Provides specialized nursing care to surgical patients before, during, and immediately after procedures. Prepares the operating room and ensure a sterile environment, assists the surgical team (as circulating or scrub nurse), monitors the patient's condition and vital signs, manages instruments and supplies, advocates for patient safety, and collaborates with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other team members throughout the perioperative period.
Key Qualifications:
Solid knowledge of sterile technique, surgical instrumentation, infection control, and perioperative standards (AORN guidelines). Strong critical-thinking, prioritization, and communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, high-stress team environment. Physical ability to stand for extended periods, move/lift patients and equipment, and respond quickly in emergencies.
Education/ Experience:
• Graduate of accredited School of Nursing. ASN required; BSN preferred.
• 1 year OR Nursing experience required.
• Current MA RN licensure required.
• BLS certification required prior to start date.
• ACLS preferred.
• CNOR preferred.
