Second year students interested in working in a high pace Xray environment
Approximately 20 hours per week, evenings and weekends. Rotating holidays
Job Summary
Provide health care services applying static only x-rays to assist diagnosis and treatment. Performs radiographic procedures, computer processing and related techniques, producing images for the interpretation by or at the request of a licensed independent practitioner. Exercises professional judgment in performance of service and maintains a demeanor complimentary to medical ethics. Recognizes various patient conditions in order to provide appropriate patient care to ensure successful completion of the exam or procedure. All under the guidance of a Registered Radiologic Technologist.
Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions
• Verifies orders, verifies patient name/birth date and history.
• Documents all incidents related to patient care in the electronic health record (example-incident reports, medications given, etc.).
• Follow department protocol for all exams.
• Works with transport and nursing units to coordinate patient exams.
• Continuously monitors the patient throughout the exam.
• Utilize ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) for all exams.
• Produce quality images for the Radiologist’s review.
• Prepares images and records image release in electronic health record.
• Verifies images archived in PACS.
• Send images to tele-radiology service after hours as instructed.
• Effectively uses the EPIC and EI systems.
• Completes studies and EPIC related documentation.
• Makes studies new in EI.
• Apply appropriate problem-solving skills according to type.
• Handles problems in an efficient and professional manner.
• Works to solve process problems.
• Enlists help from the Technologist, Lead tech, Coordinator, Clinical Manager, and Director informed of problems and resolutions.
• Reports all equipment malfunctions to the proper personnel.

Minimum Education, Experience, Training and Licensures Required
• Must be a 2nd year student of a Radiologic Technologist training program approved by the AMA
• KBMIRT license
• Must obtain Basic Life Support (BLS)-American Heart Association within 90 days of hire
