Principal Network Engineer

Job description

The Principal Network Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our organization's network infrastructure. Under minimum supervision, implements mid to large scale complex network projects. Assesses, designs, implements, troubleshoots, and supports a wide range of infrastructure technologies including Cisco and Extreme Switching, Palo Alto Firewalls Cisco and Aruba Wireless, Netscaler Load balancers, and Infoblox DNS.
This role requires three days on-site (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday) at Temple Health Women's and Families Hospital.
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field Required or
Combination of relevant education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree Required
Experience
10+ years experience designing, implementing, and managing enterprise Infrastructure Required
5 years experience designing and managing Palo Alto firewalls Required
General Experience and knowledge working with network monitoring, management tools and packet capture analysis such as SNMP, NetFlow, Cisco ISE, Thousand Eyes, DNA Preferred
General Experience and working knowledge of network protocols, including TCP/IP, MPLS, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, ACI, SD-WAN, WiFi protocols and VPNs Preferred
General Experience Proficiency in configuring, troubleshooting network devices, including routers, switches,
firewalls, load balancers, and network monitoring systems Preferred
General Experience and strong understanding of network security principles and best practices, including network segmentation, access control, and threat mitigation Preferred
Licenses
Cisco Cert Net Professional Preferred
Cisco Cert Design Profesional Preferred
