Highlights:
Summary : The Physician Billing Representative I shall be responsible for patient account billing and collections to resolve all outstanding insurance account balances in a timely manner. This will involve using multiple computer systems, electronic payer systems, and calling payers on a daily basis. The Physician Billing Representative I will be responsible for generating claims, following up with insurance companies to include engaging patients to assist when necessary, and updating notes in the patient accounting system to reflect actions taken in order to expedite payment. This individual will utilize standard department operating procedures in their daily tasks and in order to move accounts through the proper workflow in the system. This position may have additional duties assigned that are within scope of the role.
Education / Experience :High School diploma or equivalent required. Minimum 1 year experience in medical office setting preferred or 2 years' experience in business, accounting, or customer service related field. PC experience required with knowledge of Excel and Word applications. License / Certification : CPAT or CPAR certification preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
• Ability to read and write proficiently
• PC experience required with knowledge of Excel and Word applications
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills
• Self-motivated
• Knowledge of HIPAA standards and regulations preferred

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements : Position requires sitting for 80% of the workday and mobility 20% of the workday.
There is occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
There is frequent reaching, use of hands and repetitive action.
Requires occasional lifting or carrying up to 25 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds.
There is a continuous need for speaking with clear diction and hearing sensitivity in conversation either by phone or in person.
Continuous visual acuity at close and distant range.
Inside protected from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Minimal noise levels.
Much exposure to computer work.
Occasional exposure to risk of electrical shock.
Some exposure to infectious disease while performing job-related tasks.
Some exposure to hazardous chemicals. Occasional exposure to radiation.
