Job Overview
Fairview is seeking an experienced Hospitalist Physician Assistant to serve as the APP Site Supervisor for SOC Patient Placement . In this leadership role, you will provide clinical and operational oversight for a team of Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), fostering excellence in patient care, provider engagement, and team performance. Responsibilities include daily leadership, performance management, professional development, and supporting a collaborative practice environment across the program. Jointly with other providers and through operating committees, ensures that community, medical group, domain, and hospital standards/guidelines related to medical practice of APPs are maintained. Collaborates with site and system leadership to support process improvement initiatives, departmental strategy, and operational plans related to APPs at the site.
Practice Details:
• FTE: 0.10 FTE dedicated to administrative responsibilities and up to 0.90 FTE providing clinical coverage within SOC Triage
• Maintains accountability for site APPs meeting targets for clinical quality, patient satisfaction, employee engagement, financial performance, research and education.
• Works directly with Physician Liaison (PL) and SOC operational leadership to ensure appropriate APP staffing is provided on site.
• Collaborates with PL in execution of organizational strategies and tactics related to APP and program practice
• Maintains accountability for day-to-day operations of APPs to achieve performance targets/metrics in collaboration with PL
• Mentors, holds accountable, and supports professional development of all APPs within the program
• Monitors stakeholder satisfaction and resolves patient complaints related to APPs in collaboration with PL and operations leadership
• Collaborates with operational leadership for recruitment, orientation, and retention of APPs
• Ensures site participation, reporting and resolution occurs consistent with organizational professional review process
• Works collaboratively with operational leadership in the management of site operations.
• Reviews performance of APPs within the program and oversees peer review within clinic unit.
• Supports the development, implementation and evaluation of care system quality improvement initiatives for the department and the system
• Serves as a role model and sets a positive example. Leads in a manner that puts our patients and families first, promotes continuous quality improvement and organizational values.
• Attends operationally aligned meetings and leadership development courses and seminars.
• Assures APP participation in organizational committees and initiatives.
• Encourages utilization of Fairview care system whenever and wherever appropriate, and addresses opportunities to improve care system performance.
• Assists in optimizing utilization of APP staff and system capacity in balance with patient demand, satisfaction, and stewardship.
Qualifications:
• 5 years experience as a provider
• Current licensure as a Physician Assistant (PA-C) in the state of Minnesota
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a hospitalist APP within the Fairview system
• Strong clinical judgment and ability to synthesize complex medical information quickly
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Familiarity with EPIC and system-level patient placement workflows
Preferred Qualifications:
• Management degree or training
• Previous leadership role

The posted pay range is for a 1.0 FTE. The actual rate of pay offered within this range may depend on several factors, such as FTE, skills, knowledge, relevant education, experience, and market conditions. Additionally, our organization values pay equity and considers the internal equity of our team when making any offer. Hiring at the maximum of the range is not typical.
