A caregiver in this role will support pharmacy operations at the Beachwood Family Health Center, a high-volume ambulatory pharmacy serving patients with a variety of prescription needs. Monday and Tuesday are the highest-volume days, with approximately 500 to 800 prescriptions filled each day. Responsibilities include filling and processing prescriptions, answering phones and supporting front-counter operations. The pharmacy includes three technician stations at the front counter and three prescription filling stations, with a smaller team of one to two technicians supporting operations during morning and evening hours. The caregiver will work collaboratively with pharmacists and fellow technicians to provide accurate, timely and patient-centered pharmacy services.
A caregiver in this PRN position will support a variety of day and evening shifts based on department needs, with most shifts being 8 hours. Coverage opportunities are typically identified in advance to support planned PTO, with additional shifts available as needed for unexpected call-offs. Caregivers can generally expect to work 1 to 2 shifts per week, with a minimum availability of 2 to 3 days per week when needed. Weekday availability is required, and candidates with availability across 3 to 4 days per week are preferred. Weekend-only availability is not ideal for this role.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
• Refill and maintain automated dispensing systems.
• Fill medication carts daily.
• Prepare orders and maintain inventory for the pharmacy.
• Repackage bulk medications.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or National HealthCareer Association (NHA)
• Registration through the Ohio Board of Pharmacy (OBOP) as a Certified Pharmacy Technician, Registered Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Technician Trainee
• Caregivers with active Pharmacy Technician Trainee or Registered Pharmacy Technician registrations are required to update their registration to a Certified Pharmacy Technician registration with the OBOP within 6 months.

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
• Completion of a formal Pharmacy Technician Training Program
• Six months of hospital experience

Physical Requirements:
• Typical physical demands include ability to perform functions of the job while reaching and stretching, and manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer functions of job.

Personal Protective Equipment:
• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
