Responsibilities
The Patient Transporter 2 serves as a lead and is a multifunctional role providing assistance with the efficient coordination, dispatch, and transport for patient transport services. Assists with the daily workflow of the department, such as assigning and monitoring service requests and transporters, providing guidance and instruction, coordinating breaks and schedule changes, and reporting on activities. In addition, this role provides transport and delivery services within the hospital departments by using wheel chairs, gurneys and other appropriate equipment, and to assist the nursing staff in restocking supplies and maintaining the general cleanliness of the department. Transports patients with IVACS, O2, chest tubes, foleys, etc. Utilizes basic knowledge of body mechanics, transfer techniques, asepsis, and CPR.
Qualifications
Education
• High School Diploma, High School Equivalency (HSE), or Completion of a CHS Approved Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Certificate required

Experience
• 1 year of dispatching and/or related healthcare experience required
• Experience with EPIC Transport Command Center preferred

Licenses and Certifications
• BLS - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers by American Heart Association (AHA) required
