Job description
Hourly Pay Range:
$18.76 - $27.20 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.
Position Highlights:
• Position: Patient Support Representative – Outpatient Rehab – Per Diem
• Location: Lincolnshire, IL
• Full Time/Part Time/Per Diem: Per Diem (as needed)
• Hours: Rotating shifts; clinic is open Mon.-Thurs. 7 a.m. – 7pm, Fri. 7am-5pm.
• Will rotate into varied start and end times: 7am-3:30pm, 10:30am-7pm, 9am-5:30pm; will rotate at least 2 evenings until 7pm
• Schedule: Varies as needed per 6-week schedule
• Required Travel: No
What you will do:
• Reviews and analyzes required patient demographic and consults representatives, providers, and insurance carriers to verify benefits, determine eligibility, obtain pre-certifications, and support timely reimbursement.
• Performs pre-certification notification via telephone or electronically and completes required documentation for submission to insurance carriers per payer requirements.
• Researches pre-certification denials including missing authorization, patient pre-certification or referral documentation.
• Confirms referral requirements for individual plans and works with referring physician offices when needed to obtain referrals for scheduled services, including referrals for additional office visits.
• Utilizes the electronic medical record task-based work queue to maintain established productivity metrics determined by the Rehab Services department to meet business needs.
What you will need:
• Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in business or healthcare preferred.
• Experience: 1–2 years of healthcare registration, scheduling, or customer service experience preferred.
• Knowledge & Skills: Knowledge of health insurance, medical terminology, and anatomy preferred. Strong data entry, keyboarding, and Microsoft Office skills preferred.
• Other: Valid driver’s license and appropriate auto insurance required if performing duties at an off-site location.
