**Job Description:**
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Patient Care Technician II to join our team on the Medical Surgical floor at UM BWMC, 7 West. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care and support to nursing staff, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for our patients. This role requires strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital setting.
**Responsibilities:**
• Assist patients with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding as needed.
• Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration accurately and timely.
• Support nursing staff with patient assessments and report any changes in patient condition promptly.
• Assist with patient mobility, including turning, repositioning, and ambulation to prevent complications such as pressure ulcers.
• Prepare and maintain patient rooms, ensuring cleanliness and readiness for new admissions.
• Collect specimens and perform basic laboratory tests as directed by nursing staff.
• Operate and maintain medical equipment safely and according to hospital protocols.
• Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families.
• Adhere to infection control policies and safety procedures to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.
• Document all patient care activities accurately in the medical record system.
• Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary team members to deliver comprehensive patient care.

UM BWMC is seeking a dedicated and skilled Patient Care Technician II to join our healthcare team in Glen Burnie, Maryland. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care, assist nursing staff, and support the overall patient experience in a fast-paced clinical environment.
**Job Requirements:**
• **Skills:**
• Proficient in basic patient care techniques including vital signs monitoring, specimen collection, and patient hygiene assistance
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members
• Ability to accurately document patient information and observations in compliance with hospital protocols
• Competent in using medical equipment relevant to patient care duties
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a dynamic environment
• Demonstrated ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
• **Experience:**
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a Patient Care Technician or in a similar patient support role within a hospital or clinical setting
• Experience working with diverse patient populations, including adult and geriatric patients
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems preferred
• Certification as a Patient Care Technician, Nursing Assistant, or equivalent is required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is a plus
