Patient Care Technician I - Per Diem, Evenings 11am-11pm, ED, Atlantic Health Chilton Medical Center

Job description

Principal Accountabilities:
• Assists patients with activities of daily living including bathing, feeding, dressing
• Obtains and records vital signs, weights, and heights
• Assists patients with mobility: ambulation, transfer, discharges and ROM activities
• Performs postmortem care
• Performs EKG's, phlebotomy and blood glucose monitoring
• Observes and reports changes in patients' condition to the RN
• Maintains phlebotomy equipment and inventory
• Other related duties as assigned.

Required:
• High School diploma or GED
• BLS certification

Preferred:
• Strong interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written
• Patient, compassionate nature
• Ability to operate as part of a team, alongside physicians and nurses
• Proficiency in computer-based data management programs and information systems
• Prior experience in an ED or acute care setting strongly preferred
